Adult social care is a growing sector which offers a range of rewarding careers, with many different job roles, and lots of opportunities for progression.

If you want a career where you can progress, have job security, and get an enormous sense of personal achievement from knowing you are helping other people, then adult social care is for you.

You’ll find all the information you need to know about working in adult social care on our Think Care Careers site.

If you’re new to adult social care, then an apprenticeship is one of the best ways to get into the sector. Our Thinking of doing an apprenticeship page will help you see the benefits.

Or if you’re a graduate looking to start your career in care take a look at our National Graduate Management Training Scheme.

If you're promoting careers in social care take a look at our dedicated web page for teachers, careers and employment advisors. If you support people with their career decisions, you can request an I Care...Ambassador to deliver a careers activity, such as a talk, presentation or work placement.

Careers and employment advice

If you provide careers and employment advice we have a dedicated section on Think Care Careers that you’ll find very helpful.

You can also request an I Care...Ambassador to deliver a careers activity such as a talk, presentation or work placement. They're a team of enthusiastic care workers who talk about what it’s like to work in social care and can add real insight to your work. Hearing from someone who is working in care about why they love their job is a powerful message and can inspire others to consider care as a career.
