Guidance for Learning Providers

By understanding the sector better you can improve your offer and potentially increase your business too.

Working with learning providers is very important to us

We work hand in hand with England’s adult social care employers to make sure their teams have the right skills and values. We recognise that learning providers play a crucial part in supporting these employers and others in the sector to develop a highly skilled workforce and drive up the quality of care delivered.

To support training providers across England we have a variety of offers. More information on these offers is below:

Our endorsement framework

Our endorsement framework is a mark of quality that is given to the best learning and development in the adult social care sector.

By being endorsed you can prove you deliver high quality learning and development. If you think your organisation qualifies, find out all about the Endorsement Framework now

Delivering learning to people who employ their own care and support staff

We estimate there over 65,000 individuals who use their direct payment to employ their own care and support staff (also called individual employers), and around 110,000 people working in these roles as personal assistants (PAs). In other words, this market is big!

Delivering learning to individual employers and PAs can be quite unique from other training, so we've developed some short guidance which has lots of practical advice and tips to help.

Events

As we are regularly talking to employers we are in a very good position to share with you what they are telling us they are looking for! These one day events will talk through the new apprenticeship standards and funding systems but will also include information on:

  • Engaging with employers
  • The Regulated Qualifications Framework
  • The Care Certificate & Manager Induction Standards
  • Endorsement and working with Skills for Care
  • Assessor and Trainer CPD

These events are partially subsidised and will cost £100 (+VAT) per person.

There are currently no events scheduled.

If you are interested in attending an event however cannot make these dates or locations, please email slqa@skillsforcare.org.uk to register your interest. We will then come to you first when we put on more of these events to see if they better suit.

Testimonials

It was also wonderful to hear that Skills for Care are planning on working with learning providers, helping them keep up to date and keeping us informed on what care providers are looking for / needing.

It is very exciting and am looking forward to receiving the presentation, notes and links. Once again, thank you so very much for an extremely worthwhile day!! Gloria Rogers, Care Shield

Care Learning Network 2017

This year we will be welcoming all our Care Learning Coalition (CLC) members to the first Care Learning Network event.

The Care Learning Network will allow all members to network, share good practice and find out more about what Skills for Care’s doing for learning providers in line with all the changes to our sector this year.

We will be covering delivering the new apprenticeship standards and the issues surrounding these changes such as funding and the levy as well as a number of other sessions.

We will be hosting this full day event for only £50 per person on Tuesday 24 October in Central London.
