The Care Certificate is the induction that care workers should do when they start a career in social care.
It is a set of standards to adhere to in their daily working life. Training, supervision and workplace assessment should be provided.
The induction is the start of the career journey and part of the training that will make them ready to work in care.
The Care Certificate is for new staff, new to care. It is also offers opportunities for existing staff to refresh or improve their knowledge.
The Manager Induction Standards are recommended to anybody working or wanting to work in care management.
They set out clearly what a new manager needs to know and understand.
Care organisations use the standards to effectively plan and induct their new managers.
Registered managers need to have a care management related qualification. For new registered managers we recommend the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care.
This qualification can be tailored to the service that is being provided.
For care providing organisations, funding towards the cost may be available from our Workforce Development Fund.
